Renato Ratti Barolo "Rocche Dell'Annunziata" Single Vineyard
$145.95
The single vineyard Rocche dell'Annunziata is historically considered the most important of the "Marsenasco" area. The name Rocche in Italian means 'cliff' because of its steep hill. This is given by a very rare sub soil with a mix of bluish marl white sand. The Rocche dell'Annunziata is Ratti's most elegant, complex and deep Barolo, with extremely refined and silky tannins.
Destemmed and crushed, thermo-controlled fermentation and malolactic fermentation in wood. Refinement for the first year in French oak barriques and second year in 25 hectoliter Slavonian oak casks. A wine of extraordinary complexity and character. Exceptional harmony and intensity, superb texture and long vitality.
Around 6,000 bottles produced.
