Renato Ratti Barolo "Marcenasco"

The name "Marsenasco" derives from the ancient zone of Marcenascum, a hamlet, castle and Benedictine Abbey endowed with Nebbiolo grape variety vineyards, that were already precious back in the XII Century (Rigestum Comunis Alba). Right from the first vintage (1965), Renato Ratti had wished to introduce new winemaking techniques. The goal was - and remains - making a Barolo that expresses the elegance and complexity of La Morra 'terroir' qualities that can already be appreciated after a few years of bottle aging and then capable of lasting through time.

Destemmed and crushed, thermo-controlled and malolactic fermentation in steel vats and aging around two years in Slavonian oak casks and small French oak barrels. A wine of extraordinary complexity and character, exceptional harmony and intensity, superb texture and long vitality.
