Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Rouge La Framboisiere

Typical of La Framboisere is its delicate, red-berry-like fruit, which may explain the name (Framboise = raspberry) with a fine, mineral clarity and good tannin structure. This Burgundy is already very delicate in its youth, but can also mature very well in the bottle for several years.

The laborious harvesting by hand is of course standard at the Domaine Faiveley. Some of the grapes are not separated from the stems before pressing in order to obtain a slight increase in tannins, which gives the wine an additional bite. The mash is pumped over twice a day to extract color, tannins and extract from the grape skins. The Framboisiere gets around 20% new barriques, which gives the wine a fine spice and noblesse without the wood dominating it.

100% Pinot Noir
