Rocky Pond Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Double D is situated 15 miles Southwest of Lake Chelan, along the Columbia River. From near the river's edge at an elevation of 700 feet, 55 acres are planted up to 940 feet on a north-facing slope of fine silt loam and tumbled granite. The wine spends 28 months in French oak barrels (40% new French oak). Only 120 cases are produced.
Aromas of blackberries, cherries and violets pour out of the glass, complimented by star anise, oregano and cedar with a hint of earthiness in the background. The palate is more savory than the nose indicates with notes of sage, red fruits and cocoa.
